Capture Types
DirectScan, DirectScan Zonal
DirectScan Capture Type allows you to capture paper documents with a TWAIN-compliant scanner connected to your computer. DirectScan Agent must be downloaded and installed to the computer to connect to your TWAIN-compliant scanner.

QCard, QCard Packet and DocType QCard
QCard Capture Type(s) allows you to create a QCard from the Content Central Webpage. And then, use the printed QCard as a cover page or 1st page to your documents and saved to a QCard Incoming Folder.
Electronic
Electronic Capture Type allows you to upload documents to Content Central by navigating to a file in your local folder, by clicking on ‘Choose File’.
Form Capture Type allows you to use a Capture Form as a template to add or capture documents to Content Central. The Form Capture Type is only available to Catalogs and Document Types with configured Capture Form.
Coding Method or 'Index Properties'
Provide Now
When selecting ‘Provide Now’, user will be allowed to assign the Catalog and Document Type, and enter field values. Upon successful capture, the document is sent straight to Folder Browser > ‘Catalog’ Folder.
Provide Later in the Coding Queue
When selecting ‘Provide Later in the Coding Queue’, upon successful capture, the document is sent to the ‘Work Areas’ > ‘Coding Queue’
Provide some now, some later
When selecting ‘Provide Later in the Coding Queue’, user will be allowed to assign the Catalog and Document Type, and enter field values. Upon successful capture, the document is sent to the ‘Work Areas’ > ‘Coding Queue’
Provide only Catalog and Document Type
When selecting ‘Provide Now’, user will be allowed to assign the Catalog and Document Type. Upon successful capture, the document is sent straight to Folder Browser > ‘Catalog’ Folder.
PDF Capture Options
A menu for PDF Capture Options will pop-out when using ‘Electronic’ Capture type and uploading a PDF file.
The PDF document will be left as-is and committed to the catalog with the document properties supplied. If the document does not already contain OCR text for full-text searching, the only information that will be searchable will be the document properties or Fields.
Convert to a fully-searchable PDF
The PDF document will be converted to a new PDF containing document properties and OCR text for full-text searching.
The PDF document will be processed for OCR text, but the file will remain in its original format.
Capture Settings Visibility
To configure Capture Settings Visibility, go to ‘Administration’ > ‘System Settings’ > ‘Capture Settings’
Capture-Methods that are checked under Capture-Methods Visibility are available/visible for ALL users in the Capture Type Panel.
Capture-Types that are checked under Capture-Type Visibility are available/visible for ALL users in the Capture New Menu.
PDF-Actions that are checked under PDF Actions Visibility are available/visible for ALL users for options. When only 1 PDF Action is checked, the PDF document will be captured automatically using the 1 PDF Capture Action checked.
Click ‘Apply’ (below) in System Settings to save the settings.
File Storage
Folder Browser
Folder Browser allows users to view documents as they appear on the file system under each ‘Catalog’ folder. The Folder Structure under the ‘Catalog’ Folder is based on the Folder Building Configuration for the specified Catalog and Document Type.
VIEW Permission applies, such that only users and groups with VIEW permission to the Catalog and Document Type will be able to view document in the Folder Browser.
Work Areas ‘Coding Queue’
Coding Queue is a temporary location for documents that have not yet been completely coded or indexed. While document is in the Coding Queue, the document is not yet coded or assigned to a Catalog and document type, and therefore the document will not be searchable.
ADD permissions apply such that only users and groups with ADD permission to the Catalog and Document Type will be able to view documents in the Coding Queue and Commit the document.
