Content Central v7 Approval Process Status System Field

In the previous version of Content Central, there were icons used to determine the status of a document which was in an Approval Process. These icons have been removed and replaced with a system field in Content Central v7 which provides the status of the document in an Approval Process. Below are the steps to enable this system field:

1. A user with an Admin account in Content Central would log into Content Central and access the "Administration>Catalogs & Document Types>Approval Processes>Approval-Process Details" section for the Approval Process they wish to create the status system field. At the bottom of this section there is an 'Enable System Field' option which the user would check, doing so pops up a Text Box containing the name of the status system field which can be changed from here by the user. After verifying the name of the status system field, the user may click on 'Apply' to save the changes and create the status system field.


2. The Admin user must now access the "Administration>System Fields" section of Content Central and move the status system field which was created from the 'Available Fields' List to the 'Enabled Fields' List using the blue arrows. After doing so the user may click on 'Apply' to save the changes to add the status system field to the visible System Fields in Content Central.


3. Now once the previous steps have been completed, users should be able to view the newly created Approval Process's status system field with the document's current status when clicking on the document and scrolling down to the bottom where all system fields are displayed.
