Password Protected Emails and ZIP Files from Content Central

Environment:
  • Content Central c7.0.6373 or later versions.
  • System Setting: 'Force encrypted password protection of zipped attachments' CHECKED
Feature:

When sending a document file via the 'Email' Action Menu in Content Central, a user has the option to enter a password for the ZIP file to be sent to the email recipient.

Issue:
  • Email received contains ZIP file that do not extract.
  • Email received contains ZIP file that is not password protected.

Resolution:

Content Central uses AES encryption to password protect the ZIP files. To extract password-protected ZIP file from Content Central, use a ZIP application, like 7-Zip or Winzip, or other ZIP Application that is able to handle password protect ZIP files that uses AES encryption.
