Approval Process System Status Field

An Approval Process can be configured to have a System Status Field.

This Approval Process System Status Field is updated automatically based on the Approval Process Stages, and can be previewed in the Properties Panel.

Configure Approval Process System Status Field


Login to Content Central as Admin or member of the Admin Page.

Go to the 'Administration' Page.

Go to 'Catalogs and Document Types' Page. Select a configured Catalog and Document Type.

Click 'Approval Process'. Select an Approval Process to configure.

In the Manage Approval Process Details Page, under Options:
For 'Enable System Field':
When CHECKED, an Approval Process Status Field will be created and enabled. By default, the field names is based on the Approval Process Name. Optionally, change the Field Name.
Click Apply to save changes.




Enabling the System Fields


Go to Administration Page. Click 'System Fields'.

In the Manage System Fields Page, under 'Available Field', the field list will include the Approval Process System Status Field.

Click to highlight a System Field to enable.

Click blue arrow icon, to move the System Field under 'Enabled Field'.

Click Apply to save changes.




From here on, for the document assigned to the affected Catalog and Document Type, with the Approval Process System Status Field created and available, in the Properties Panel, under System Fields, the Approval Process System Status Field will show for read only.
