This applies to Content Central v7 Document Management System.

Capture Form

The Capture Forms screen allows you to upload and manage one or more static PDF forms containing one or more fields and at least one submit button. These PDF forms can be used as templates to generate new documents in the catalog.

Go to Administration > Catalogs & Document Type > (Select a Catalog and Document Type’ > Capture Form.

Steps to Capture Documents using Capture Forms or PDF-Form Templates


Use ‘Form’ Capture Type when generating a new document using a PDF-Form template. The browser being used should have a PDF Viewer plugin enabled in the browser so that there will be no issues in the submission of PDF Form document.

Login to Content Central Link (URL) -
As Admin or member of the Administrator Group.
Or, as a user or member of a group with ADD permission to the specified Catalog and Document Type.

On the Dashboard or Welcome Page, click 'Menu' icon, found at the top left portion of the Title Bar of the website, to show the Navigation Panel.

In the Menu Items, select 'Capture New', 'Form'.

Select the Catalog and Document Type to add the document to, and the Form (Template) to use.

Enter field values or document properties into the appropriate field text boxes in the Capture Fields Panel.

Click 'Continue' to load the PDF Form in the Preview Area. Matching Document Fields from the Capture Fields Panel will populate the PDF Form Fields.
The browser being used should have a Adobe PDF Viewer or other advanced PDF plugin enabled in the browser so that there will be no issues in loading the PDF Form in the document preview area, and no issues with the advanced features of the PDF Form, like fillable fields, digital signature, ‘Submit’ button, etc. Please refer from - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html
Complete the form as required.

Click the proper submission button in the PDF Form to submit the PDF Form document to Content Central. The browser being used should have a PDF Viewer plugin enabled in the browser so that there will be no issues in the submission of the PDF Form to Content Central.

'Submit Successful' should prompt.

A new document will be created and stored in the Folder Browser after submitting the form. When the PDF Form document is accessed inside Content Central web page, the document can be modified and resubmitted to generate a new version of the document automatically.
