Workflow Trigger, Content Query for Date Field Value Evaluation

Content Query for Date Field Value Evaluation


Content Query can be used to return specific documents based on the Field Values, including Date Fields. With Date Field Values, it is matched with a Specific date or with reference to the Current Date.

Go to Administration > Workflow > Triggers. Add a new Trigger.

Content Query Settings


For using Content Query to evaluate Date Field Values, here are the suggested settings:

Type
  • Content Query

Subtype
  • All Contents
  • Contents in a Catalog
  • Content in a Document Type

Catalog and Document Type
  • (Select a Catalog and Document Type to configure the trigger for.)

Query
  • by Field Value(s)

Return
  • All Matching Content (Multiple Record)

Field Evaluation
  • Selected Field Value(s)

Field
  • (Select a Date Field.)

Field Matching Type, Options:
  • Equals
    • Enter a Specific Date.
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field matches with the Specific Date entered, the document will be returned.
  • Equal to Current Date
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field matches the Current Date, the document will be returned.
  • Less than or Equal to Current Date
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field is less than or equal to the Current Date, the document will be returned.
  • Less than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
    • Enter the Offset Days. Negative Values can be entered.
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field is less than or equal to the Current Date plus/minus the Offset Days entered, the document will be returned.
  • Greater than or Equal to Current Date
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field is greater than or equal to the Current Date, the document will be returned.
  • Greater than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
    • Enter the Offset Days. Negative Values can be entered.
    • When the Date Field Value on the Selected Field is greater than or equal to the Current Date plus/minus the Offset Days entered, the document will be returned.

Format Evaluation
  • All Types
  • Select a File Extension of the Document to process.
Process Interval
  • Select the interval to process the query.
Process Start
  • On First Interval
Re-process Matching Records after
  • Enter the interval for re-processing the query when the conditions are met.

Examples

Example: To Trigger on the Date Field Value


So that the trigger will start and continue while the current date matches the date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Equal to Current Date

Example: To Start the Trigger on the Date Field Value


So that the trigger will start and continue from when the current date matches the date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Less than or Equal to Current Date

Example: To End the Trigger on the Date Field Value


So that the trigger will start and continue until the current date matches the date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Greater than or Equal to Current Date


Example: To Start the Trigger, Days Before the Date Field Value

So that the trigger will start and continue from offset days before the date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Less than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
Offset Days: Enter (+) Days

Example: To End the Trigger, Days Before the Date Field Value

So that the trigger will start and continue until offset days before date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Greater than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
Offset Days: Enter (+) Days

Example: To Start the Trigger, Days After the Date Field Value

So that the trigger will start and continue from offset days after date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Less than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
Offset Days: Enter negative (-) Days

Example: To End the Trigger, Days After the Date Field Value

So that the trigger will start and continue until offset days after date field value, here's the Content Query Settings:
Field Matching Type: Greater than or Equal to (Current Date plus offset days)
Offset Days: Enter negative (-) Days
